Many animals are abused in puppy mills, and then are sent to pet stores. They are mistreated and are put in filthy, nasty, and even deadly conditions. Your own pet might have come from one! The Puppy Mill Pipeline Act will help animals by banning pet stores from selling animals that were from pet mills, which will overall help pets become better treated.
If you live in New York State, you can help animals immediately! Just ask Governor Hochul to sign the The Puppy Mill Pipeline Act into Law!
Summer 2022 Update:

August 2022 Update: The Big Cat Public Safety Act has Passed the House. Next stop, the U.S. Senate!
This bill revises requirements governing the trade of big cats (i.e., species of lion, tiger, leopard, cheetah, jaguar, or cougar or any hybrid of such species). Specifically, it revises restrictions on the possession and exhibition of big cats, including to restrict direct contact between the public and big cats.
The bill prohibits the private possession of big cats and makes it illegal for exhibitors to allow direct contact with cubs.
“Allowing untrained people to maintain big cats in their homes leaves these animals vulnerable to significant abuse and neglect,” says Animal Legal Defense Fund Executive Director Stephen Wells. “It also threatens public safety — forcing ill-equipped first responders to handle situations where animals like tigers and lions have escaped. There’s tremendous momentum behind the Big Cat Public Safety Act, and Congress should move swiftly to end the private possession of big cats in the U.S.” (1)
How you can help! Locate the two senators from your state. Use their email Contact form and ask them to support S.1210 - The Big Cat Public Safety Act.
